Paulo Catrica (1965) lives and works in Lisbon. He was awarded a PhD at the School of Art and Media, University of Westminster, London (2011); he undertook a Master’s Degree in Image and Communication at the Goldsmith’s College, London (2007) and a Bachelor’s Degree in History at Universidade Lusíada, Lisbon (1992); he attended a Course in Photography at Ar.Co, Lisbon (1985). He received several grants from Fundação da Ciência e Tecnologia (2006/2010 and 2014/2017), also from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, London (2001) and Centro Português de Fotografia (1999).
Amongst his important exhibitions we can highlight “Bemformoso”, Architecture Biennale 2016, Venice, Italy (2016), “Olhares Contemporâneos”, Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, Lisbon (2015), “Galapagos”, Centro de Arte Moderna, Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon (2013) and the solo exhibition “TNSC”, Museu EDP, Lisbon (2011).
